Accessibility statement
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Unifight Haifa wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to use this website. We follow the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, and aim to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568, which is based on the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines, at level AA.
Accessibility level
The site partially conforms to IS 5568 at level AA: apart from the gaps listed below, we know of no failures of the level AA requirements.
On 18 October 2026 we audited every type of page ourselves, in all three languages, on a phone-sized and a desktop screen. We used the automated checkers axe-core and Lighthouse against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 at level AA, and checked by hand: keyboard-only use, the structure a screen reader sees, colour contrast, zoom up to 400%, extra text spacing and reduced motion. We fixed what we found and added an automated accessibility check to the site’s tests. The site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility expert.
What we have done
- The site is available in Hebrew, Russian and English, and each page declares its language and text direction, so screen readers read it correctly and Hebrew is shown right to left.
- Pages use headings, lists and descriptive links, so they can be navigated with a screen reader.
- The site can be used with a keyboard alone. The keyboard focus is clearly marked, a “Skip to content” link jumps past the header, and the Esc key closes the menu, the video player and the cookie banner.
- Buttons, filters and other controls have names in the page language. Filter buttons say whether they are selected, and the training schedule announces how many classes match your filters.
- Text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, and large text at least 3:1.
- The layout adapts to phones and tablets. You can zoom up to 400% or increase text spacing without content being cut off or needing to scroll sideways.
- Phone numbers, dates and times are marked so that they keep the right order inside Hebrew text.
- Animations are switched off when your device is set to reduce motion. The moving text strip and other looping decorations on the home page also have a pause button.
- Photos on the home page that carry information have a short text description in the page language. Background photos that only decorate the page are hidden from screen readers.
- Training venue addresses are shown as text with links to navigation apps. The map is optional and loads only when you ask for it.
Known gaps
- A news post’s cover photo has a text description only if the author added one.
- The interactive map may not be fully usable with a screen reader or keyboard. The same venue information is available as text.
- Videos don’t have captions or audio description yet. They play in YouTube’s player, which we don’t control.
- Some small links, such as phone numbers and links inside text, are smaller than 44 by 44 pixels.
- Content on external services we link to, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and Waze, is not under our control.
Training venues
Training takes place in school halls and other buildings that are not run by the club. If you need information about physical access to a specific venue, contact us and we will help.
